About the author
Hi, my name is Ian Peric.
At the moment, I travel around the world serving the community as a life coach, business consultant and author. Sharing meditation, ceremony and workshops as I migrate from place to place. I grew up in a small town in country Australian and had little interest in spirituality or meditation till I was in my thirties. Shortly before writing this book I was an IT manager specialising in large scale systems. I was an active member of the technology community and a passionate amateur martial arts athlete. After a series of injuries coupled with large scale successes, I was sitting at home beating myself up about how badly I had fought in winning a competition, how badly I was doing at the job of my dreams and how anxious I was about the relationship and home which also matched the ideal pictures I'd created for myself as a child. It was my text book perfect life, and I was in agony. That night I knew that this was something that the next trophy could not fix. That night I had finally found the courage and clarity to do whatever it would take to explore and heal this inner turmoil
My discomfort inspired me to visit a local Chek practitioner. Amongst many things, he recommended eating organic food and reading Rumi before bed. Then a friend I met at a local organic market introduced me to Deepak Chopra and Wayne Dyer. I began to read everything I could get my hands on, tapes constantly ran in my car and I practiced meditation daily. Within six months I was beginning to work with Native American medicine teachers. These traditions remain a core part of my daily practice. I then expanded my practice of Native traditions and also began Kundalini yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan ®.
Somewhere around this point I found that no one else was going to do this work for me. The most profound shifts would come from my own work and realisations. I was constantly immersed in learning, exercises and applying all of these teachings in my daily life. After feeling overwhelmed with working on so many areas of myself, I felt I needed to simplify things and focus on one area of my life at a time. Letting intuition guide what I practice and when; bringing together tools and techniques that all work on the same area. My journals of this process became 13 Weeks. I continue to use the methods in 13 Weeks to create all kinds of lasting life change.
This system is in constant refinement based on my experiences and the feedback of readers. I am eternally grateful to all my teachers friends and relations for their past, present and continued guidance. Without which I wouldn't have the honour of sharing 13 Weeks to Awakening.
